After last year’s successful internship program bringing together 26 interns from a pool of over 10,000 applicants, Todd’s Externship program will significantly expand its early talent development program, with a shorter program that includes more participants and enhanced technical structure.
The Externship provides technical skill-building opportunities to exceptional high school and early college students from communities that have historically been underrepresented. The program is designed to build students’ professional skills and technical acumen in a startup environment.
“The Externship engages students at a critical time in their academic journey to position them for even greater opportunities in the future,” said Vincent Todd, Todd’s Chief Executive Officer. “We’re excited to offer hands-on experiences, people to work along with and candid talk with company leaders—the aspects school cannot provide. We hope many of these scholars will pursue careers that will help shape the future of our industry.”
The Program
Externship participants, who are rising high school seniors and early collage students, will join us for a virtual four-week experience where they can explore our extensive investment in technology and working in one of the world’s first sustainable agriculture startups. 25 students will be selected across software, marketing, growth, and operations.
After acceptance, participants will be assigned to a team of 2-4 students each compiled from the pool of applicants, paired with a team leader, and given 2 weeks to execute assigned projects. These projects are directly involved with real-world issues concerning our global operation and client platforms.
The following 2 weeks will be used to review the submitted solutions for the projects. Once reviewed, revisions are suggested and re-reviewed until the projects are pushed to live environments. During the entire 4-week period, participants are encouraged to join discussions with the founding team to ask questions, get feedback, and provide their own input on company operations.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate, induction into our alumni network, and after internal consideration, an internship offer.
This program reflects Todd’s significant commitment to creating opportunities through greater access directly in startup culture and networks, as well as serving as our flagship recruiting channel across all departments.
Who is eligible?
This program is open to legal United States residents of the 50 US states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico who are 16 years of age or older (19 for residents of AL and NE) at the time of application and are authorized to work in the United States.
